Bramhall Village Women's Institute raises vital awareness...

Our aim is to reach out to as many people as possible in the North West to raise awareness of the symptoms of ovarian cancer, so we were delighted to be invited to join a special event in Cheshire recently to do just that.

The Bramhall Village Women’s Institute kindly asked if we would attend one of their meetings to talk to more than fifty people who were gathered together to find out about ovarian cancer and how they can help to spread the word about its symptoms locally too.

Jo Rosenberg, our chair of trustees, said: “It was so great that our charity was invited along to share more information with this fantastic group of local people.

“At the heart of our work is the ambitious vision of a future where no-one in the North West dies from ovarian cancer so it’s imperative that we continue to reach out and that groups like the Women’s Institute join us in helping to raise much-needed awareness.  We’re a small charity and can’t do this alone so we really appreciate all of the support we receive.

“As we know, early diagnosis can significantly improve outcomes when it comes to ovarian cancer so being body-aware is vital. Knowing the main signs and symptoms and seeing a GP early really can save lives and it takes such a small amount of time to do so.

“Big, big thanks to everyone who came along to hear Sylvia from our charity talk passionately about our work.  We look forward to working alongside you in the future to continue to reach even more people locally about ovarian cancer and its symptoms.”

If you're part of a community group, business or other organisation and would be happy for us to come along to meet you to talk more about ovarian cancer and spreading the word, we’d love to hear from you.
