Why John's keen to raise both awareness and funds to spread the word...

Golfer John Bolton has been ‘putting’ his best foot forward raising money for our charity.
John, from Standish, Wigan, has been running his popular golf day for seventeen years and has kindly fundraised for our charity at the event since 2022 too.
His most recent golf day this year raised a massive £9,000 for the Dianne Oxberry Trust and we’re hugely grateful to John and everyone who attended for their support.
John said: “My dear wife Anne passed away from the dreadful illness ovarian cancer just eleven months before Dianne.
“It is sometimes called the ‘silent killer’ and it’s really important to get the word out and to check for the symptoms – talk to your doctor.
“Raising awareness is very important to me and raising money for the Dianne Oxberry Trust is very close to my heart. I’ll continue to run the event and support again too.”
This year’s golf day brings the total raised for our charity by John to more than £36,000.
Jo Rosenberg, our chair of trustees and friend of Dianne, said: “Our charity runs an ongoing campaign, Spread the Word, to help raise awareness of the signs of ovarian cancer. We want a future where no-one in the North West dies from ovarian cancer and can only do that thanks to the kindness and generosity of people like John.
“We’re so very grateful for all the time, energy and enthusiasm he puts into raising money and awareness for us and to everyone who has been part of his fundraising activity.
“The amount he has raised to help us continue to raise awareness across the North West is phenomenal.
“Thanks again John for all you do.”
We’d love to hear from you if, like John, you’d be happy to run an event or other fundraising activity in aid of our charity. Why not get in touch? Email info@dianneoxberrytrust.org now...
