'Get Cancer Clever' van hits the road

Look out for our symptom awareness leaflets on board...
As you may remember, we were proud to be part of a very special awareness raising roadshow ‘This Van Can’ which travelled around all ten boroughs of Greater Manchester raising awareness of the symptoms of ovarian cancer.

The roadshow, which included a special van featuring Dianne on the side, reached thousands of local people, helping them to understand some of the key signs and symptoms to look out for, and how to take action and see their GP if they spot them.
We’re really pleased that the GM Cancer team are continuing to raise awareness with their latest campaign – Get Cancer Clever – which is seeing another of their branded vans hitting the streets of Greater Manchester between now and April 2026. The van will contain lots of helpful information, not just for ovarian cancer but for other cancers too.
The earlier cancer is found, the easier it is to treat and the roadshow sees the NHS reaching out again to let people know the symptoms to be aware of.

Look out for our Dianne Oxberry Trust leaflets on board and do pick one up and spread the word if you can.
Jo Rosenberg, our chair of trustees said: “It was amazing to partner with the NHS and Target Ovarian to run the recent This Van Can roadshow around Greater Manchester and even more amazing to know that we reached so many people about the symptoms of ovarian cancer.
“It’s great to see the NHS team out and about across the ten boroughs locally again, and we are really pleased that we have been able to provide our information leaflets for inclusion on the van.
“As we know, early diagnosis is vital when it comes to hopefully securing better outcomes so shouting loudly and proudly is at the heart of everything we do. Please do take a look at the list of locations and dates and pop by to say hello to the team and get more information on cancer signs and symptoms. It could literally save your life.”
