BOLD & BRILLIANT

On Thursday, May 21st, we hosted a very special evening to raise awareness of the symptoms of ovarian cancer. We called the event BOLD, and it was truly BRILLIANT.

It was an evening of joy, inspiration and connection, where our brilliant line-up of speakers shared stories openly and honestly, alongside a fabulous fashion show showcasing the latest Summer looks. We want to say the biggest thank you to every single person who came along and supported us. It really was a fabulous night.

A huge thank you to John Lewis Cheadle and John Lewis Trafford, who dressed our catwalk models and made them feel a million dollars, each of whom has been affected by ovarian cancer. They were the true stars of the night, confidently taking to the stage and modelling their fabulous outfits whilst sharing their own personal stories. Huge thank you to Ian Graham Hairdressing and the Charlotte Tilbury team for providing all the finishing touches. Every model looked truly bold and brilliant.

And thank you to our four incredible guest speakers: Naga Munchetty, BBC Breakfast presenter and author of It’s Probably Nothing; Rachel Burden, BBC Radio 5 Live breakfast host, journalist and mother of four; Dr Angela Wright, GP, acclaimed menopause specialist and sexologist from Spiced Pear Health; and Sophie Attwood, Brand PR expert and author of Beautiful PR. The insight, honesty and advice they shared was invaluable, deeply personal and incredibly special. Thank you to each and every one of them.

A special thank you also goes to our amazing venue, On the 7th at MediaCityUK; DJ Sophia Hadji Michael from 6 Music; Dr Charlotte Badescu, trustee of the Dianne Oxberry Trust and ovarian cancer survivor; our Patron Annabel Tiffin; Hollosphere for their invaluable tech support; Nell’s Pizza, Road3 Events; the wonderful Jo Whittaker; and the lady who guided us seamlessly through the entire evening, our fabulous host, Kay Crewdson.

We’re delighted to say that the event raised over £3,000 of which every penny will go towards raising awareness of the symptoms of ovarian cancer. Huge thank you to all the raffle prizes contributors for their incredible generosity:

On The 7th Mediacity for two fabulous prizes, The Bath House Shop in Knutsford, Sophie Attwood and her team at SA Communications, Evening4Ricky at Manchester AO Arena, Lisa Baker, The Northern Light Cinema in Sale & Stretford, John Lewis Cheadle, John Lewis Trafford, PGA pro at Chorlton-cum-Hardy Golf Club and Trafford Golf Centre.

We appreciate all the support given to us ahead of the event, during the evening and post event, particularly from MediacityUK who were amazing to work with. We hope you enjoy these images from the night. We are planning BOLD part II. Keep in touch!
