A group of bold and brilliant women will be gathering together this May to help spread the word about ovarian cancer and raise much-needed funds so we can reach even more people locally.
The special event, ‘BOLD’, will be an exclusive evening of conversation with some of the leading women in the creative and wellbeing industries, with John Lewis stylists also on hand to share inspirational looks for summer 2026. It will take place at 'On the 7th' at Media City on 21 May.
Partnering with MediaCity and John Lewis, and supported by RMP, the stellar line-up of women will be sharing their insights and advice on how to regain control of your health, destiny and life during complex times.
Hosted by the brilliant presenter Kay Crewdson, guests will hear first-hand from Naga Munchetty, BBC Breakfast presenter and author of It’s Probably Nothing, Rachel Burden, BBC Radio 5 Live’s breakfast host, journalist and mother of four, Dr Angela Wright, GP, acclaimed menopause specialist and sexologist of Spiced Pear Health fame and Sophie Attwood, Brand PR guru and author of Beautiful PR.
People touched by ovarian cancer will be taking to the catwalk to model some fabulous summer looks from John Lewis, with an extra touch of glam from the John Lewis's Charlotte Tilbury team, who will also be selling products on the night.
Our very own Dr Charlotte Badescu, trustee of our charity and ovarian cancer survivor, will also be sharing more about the symptoms of ovarian cancer, and her own experiences both as a GP and a cancer patient too.
Jo Rosenberg, our chair of trustees, said: “We can’t wait for the event and to hear these incredible women sharing their knowledge and expertise.
"Someone dies of ovarian cancer every two hours and it’s more important than ever that we are all aware of the symptoms and feel empowered to seek help if we’re worried.
“This event will be an amazing opportunity to gather together, celebrate and inspire and empower each other to do just that – all in a wonderful setting, with fantastic supporters and a glass or two of fizz as well!
“Thanks to everyone who is involved and supporting the event. We’re a small charity and can only continue to strive towards a future where no-one dies from ovarian cancer thanks to the kindness and generosity of others. Thank you.”
